I was about 20 feet away from AW. I was hoping he wouldn’t see me if I burst out in tears. I was so moved by emotion. All around me, veterans….. loved ones, still leaving roses after so many years. I knew no one in Vietnam . but I could just sense pain and sorrow mixed with pride. I felt so proud of the men who’s names were on the wall. It takes a real person to truly lay their lives aside for others. It took everything in me not to meltdown. Although there were some tears that escaped ( stop it Elisha!!! I said to myself you are just an emotional woman) As I got to the end of the wall I started to talk to AW. He turned to me with tears in his eyes. He felt the same way I did. ….who would of thought?!
I just want to say thank you to all the men / women that have served. You are heros! Hugs to you!
